Jobs For Youth

Our youth are our future, and with the right skills, training, and support, they can grow to accomplish their goals and aspirations. But with so many career options available to them, it can be difficult to know where to begin, and even more so, how.

At STEPS Employment, this process is made easier through a number of services that are provided to help our youth determine their vocational ambitions and pathways to success.

Amongst these services, the following options are available:

  • Onsite job searching facilities including access to computers, telephone, fax and post.

  • Application assistance involving cover letter and resume design.

  • Access to apprentice and traineeships.

  • Access to the Disability Employment Services Wage Subsidy Scheme (including Wage Subsidy Connect).

  • In house and external training to assist with skills development, presentation and interviewing techniques to prepare for a life-long career.

  • Referrals to non-vocational support services, including on site, bulk-billing psychologists.

  • Access to vocational and career-planning assessments, as well as non-vocational assessments such as IQ.

  • Assistance with educational pursuits, including course enrolment.

  • Continued support for at least 6 months following employment placement, with the option of ongoing assistance after this period.
