General Counselling:

Who would benefit?

Individuals/families with issues relating to:

  • mood problems

  • relationships

  • drug and alcohol use

  • anger management

  • self esteem problems

  • eating disorders

What is involved?

Counselling as an individual, couple or family. Sessions are approximately 1 Hour.

*MEDICARE REBATES MAY APPLY.

A referral from your GP may enable you to claim up to $124.50 per session for up to 10 sessions each calendar year.

The cost?

The Australian Psychological Society recommended hourly fee for psychologists in 2015-2016 is $238 per consultation hour.

Our standard fee is $180 per consulation hour.

IQ/Learning Assessment (Adult):

Who would benefit?
People who may have a suspected deficit in intelligence or specific learning abilities.

What is involved?
Clinical interview and individual testing using standardised assessment tools.
Usually takes 3-4 hour.

The cost?
$800** including clinical report.
GST exempt.

 


 

Academic/Learning Assessment (Child):

Who would benefit?
Parents who are interested in determining the academic and social development of the child; parents who suspect that the child may be showing gifted tendencies or alternatively may be having some learning and/or behavioural difficulties.

What is involved?
Clinical interview involving parents. Individual testing with the child using standardised assessment tools.
Usually takes 3-4 hours.
Written report provided to parents 3 weeks (approx) after assessment.

The cost?
$800** including initial consultation and clinical report.
GST exempt.

 


 

Medico-Legal Assessment (Adult):

Who would benefit?
People who have suffered an accident or injury and require a clinical evaluation. The case may involve insurance claims and/or court-related matters.

What is involved?
Clinical interview and individual assessment using standardised assessment tools.
Usually takes 3-4 hours.

The cost?
Price on enquiry.
Attracts 10% GST.

 


 

Forensic or Court Assessment and Report:

Who would benefit?
Individuals facing criminal charges who require assessments for Pre-Sentence Reports or about issues regarding capacity to respond to criminal charges.

What is involved?
Letter of instruction from the Lawyer involved.

The cost?
Price on enquiry
Attracts 10% GST.

 


 

Employee Assistance Programs:

Who would benefit?
Employers who would like to provide their employees with counselling services.

What is involved?
Services can be contracted to an organisation. Individual counselling is then provided as per service contract.

The cost?
Individual sessions are $235.00

Mediation - Family Dispute Resolution:

Who would benefit?
Families undergoing separation. Couples endeavouring to develop Parenting Plans focusing on the best interests of their children.

What is involved?
A process of cooperative problem solving to reach agreement on issues such as parenting and financial settlement. Generally involves 3-6 sessions of two hours duration each.

The cost?

Special Training and Employment Placement Service (STEPS):

Who would benefit?
People who have a psychiatric illness and need job support. Must have support of a health professional, live within the local government areas and be eligible through Centrelink assessment.

What is involved?
Individual appointments with an employment counsellor. Focus is on preparation for work, job search and long term job support.

The cost?
This is a free service to clients who are eligible. Please enquire.
GST exempt.

 


 

Assistance with job search: Resume development/Application letters:

Who would benefit?
Clients who require assistance to develop a professional resume and/or to prepare applications for job vacancies.

What is involved?
Sessions are one hour long and focus on compiling information about work history, skills and achievements.

The cost?
From $75 (GST inc.) including three copies of the resume.

Vocational Counselling:

Who would benefit?
People looking for vocational and employment choice guidance.

What is involved?
Individual counselling involving interview and structured assessment techniques.

Usually takes 3-4 hours, First hour is spent with Psychologist then testing starts and goes for 2-3 hours.

The cost?
Hourly rate of $160 (ex GST) & between $600-$750 for testing including report

* To be GST exempt the purpose of counselling must fulfill the Australian Taxation Office definition as "being necessary for the treatment of the patient".
** Prices may vary depending on the total length of time to complete the assessment and/or the number of sessions needed

We set aside time for your appointment. If you need to cancel or change an appointment please give us at least 48 hours notice, or a cancellation fee will be charged. The cancellation fee is 100% of the appointment fee for less than 24 hours notice, or 50% of the fee for less than 48 hours notice.

For Bulk Billing clients, a flat fee of $25 will be charged for cancellations within 24 hours, from the second appointment onwards.
